If you don't already have a neurologist you should Dr. Whitehouse to refer you to one to investigate your foot numbness. You probably need lumbar spine imaging.
Thank you for the info, I just seen doctor Criado at the University of Michigan the other day( Vascular Surgeon). Since i've seen a couple of people on here that have seen Dr. Whitehouse as well, im going to try and get a 2nd opinion from him just to cement the diagnosis and make sure that surgery is the right thing for me. I'm very scared to have the procedure done. If anyone can give me more info on recovery it would be greatly appreciated!

how come a forum on the inter-web is more helpful than a MD grrrrrrrrrr

I currently have foot numbness. About 4 years before TOS developed, I got some bulging discs in my lower lumbar and sacrum. They wanted to do blocks, but I completely cured it with walking and manual therapy within a year.

Fast forward to TOS days, my foot numbness along with hip and leg pain will rear now and then. Seems to be related to 2 things for me (1) imbalance in your upper body (thoracic and cervical) will effect the rest of your body and (2) my activity level has increased with good PT and my muscles aren't used to bending, lifting, twisting, etc.

My latest bout was incited by joint mobility therapy to my cervical and upper thoracic spine only. One thing gives and then one thing grabs.

It's always good to get checked out, but I've read many stories of lower torso pain and numbness in conjunction with TOS. Doctors probably will not see a relation, but PT's will.

That was going to be one of my questions for dr Donahue when I see him next week. I had seen a vascular surgeon at yale who operates with a thoracic surgeon. So do cardio thoracic surgeons do the entire operation?
