I encourage you all to have hope. However, there is something really cruel about giving false hope.

CC is a very big tall person with broad shoulders and very physically fit. When someone has broad shoulders, there is more room anatomically. He is also very financially well off, and has access to the best P.T.'s and doctors and medicines and care.

He had simple neuro TOS.

So, to clarify, are you saying that he was more likely to recover quickly and without complication because his symptoms were not as severe as someone with classic ntos?

The first full week of work had its ups and downs. I know I was really tired by the end of each day and when I got home I would have to take an hour nap just so I could make it through the rest of the evening. The thing I had to keep an eye on was that I didn't push myself too hard when I was feeling good because I did that one day and suffered the next. As for the pain, I feel as though my TOS symptoms are gone. I'm just battling surgical pain and the pain I have caused myself by trying to do too much at times. I am now 3 weeks post op and I am starting to feel pretty good as long as I take things slow on the physical side of things. I still get "winded" fairly easy and sometimes it hurts to take a deep breath but I'm determined to feel "normal" again as soon as possible. I start PT next Monday so hopefully it won't be too painful.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! I hope you will let me know how you are doing once you have the surgery. I will keep you posted on my daughter too. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Should I contact the office and have them forward that report to me so I can take it to my consult appointment? To be honest the office never even sent me the results of that test. I have all the other info and am worried so it is very reassuring to hear how kind he is!!! This pain is a nightmare
Mytea,

I was just wondering how your appointment with Dr Pearl went....are you having surgery anytime soon?

Default Romans8

Hi, Romans8!

How are you doing? It's been 4 weeks since your surgery. Are you feeling better? I know that you have been through it with the blood clot and all...but I saw where you had started P/T. Good for you! 2 1/2 more weeks till my daughter sees Dr Pearl. I'm getting more nervous by the day, but I know it needs to be done. Thanks for your updates

Hi TOSmother,

I was wondering when your visit was coming up so thanks for posting. Will she do surgery the next day or is this an initial discussion only?

I am doing well. The blood clot pain is 90% gone and I really do not think about it except when I take the medicine. I have started PT and the actual exercises are fairly easy and painless. However the after effects are a little rough for me right now and I realize this may take longer than I thought. I may have gone after it too hard too fast but it seems to aggravate the neck, shoulder and arm. However it does not go down into the scappula like it did before. I guess it will take time for nerves that have been hammered for 7+ years to settle down. I also have significant atrophy on that side which is likely contributing. With all that said the pain is much better than pre surgery. I have also started PT on the left side to try and unfreeze my frozen shoulder. This may take a long time.

I am so glad I have found this group. I can only imagine what some of you have been through. It is somewhat comforting to know others have fought through similar circumstances as myself. How is your daughter handling all of this? I will continue to pray for both of you.

Default Dr Appt

We go to see Dr Pearl on December 11 for the consultation and if he thinks he can help her, then surgery the next day. My daughter is "ready" she thinks. She hasn't read any of these posts and has no idea about the post surgery pain that everyone is talking about. She said that she doesn't want to know, that it will scare her. She is also afraid that Dr Pearl will tell her that he can't help her I don't think that will happen. In some ways, I wish it were all over with. I'm glad that you are staying positive with your recovery. Thank you for responding so quickly! I will keep you posted on her also. Thanks for your prayers! We need them! Take care
