I started post op physical therapy today. It wasn't too bad and I was pleased with range of motion and strength in the surgical side for 3 weeks. I already have far more ROM than the other side (left). My PT says I have a severely frozen shoulder on the left side. I looked this up and most sites say it resolves itself over time (1 - 2 years). Does anyone have any experience with this? PT says we need to diligently stretch and be patient. I wonder if he is correct or if it is trapped in the thoracic outlet like the right side was before surgery.

Every so often some will get frozen shoulder, and yes it can take a year or so to resolve.
You can do a forum search for past postings, nobody has mentioned having it for awhile.

Hi romans8, I've been doing joint mobility exercises for a little over 2 1/2 years now and I'm pretty sure both of my shoulders, and my left hip, were frozen when I started. They're starting to move fairly good now but it's been a lot of work. I've had TOS for more than 30 years now and had surgery on one side 21 years ago. The surgery didn't turn out too well so I've never had the other side done. These joint mobility exercises have been working really well for me, though. I have a running post about it if you want to check it out.

I've had both shoulders frozen for 4 years and they haven't improved despite therapy and etc. But I have a lot of nerve damage.
