I got my first anterior scalene Botox injection this morning. The Dr said it would take a few days to relax the muscle. My neck isn't sore but I do feel very sleepy.....probably just bored watching the movers pack my house up. I will check back in once I get to Cuba and I hope the Botox helps and allows me to be as physically active as I was before I fell on my left cervical rib side.

I don't think the Botox is helping. I have less scapular and scalene pain but my arm....ever have days when you feel like you would be better off without it? I will start PT in a few days; I hope it helps because there is not a lot of sophisticated medical care in Guantanamo.

Cortisone every 3 months and lidocaine in between. Along with the correct PT it seems to be helping the muscles. If I do too much or overdo it on the bodywork pt i still get nerve flare -ups. I have also tried Neural Prolotherapy and it seemed to help the nerve pain in my arm, but its still experimental and not covered by insurance.

Glad you have found something that works for you! What muscles do you have injected? Do you get cortisone injected into the scalene muscles?
