seems like one of the main differences is that kids get the surgery much sooner. Dr. Angle told me that I would be a better candidate for surgery because my TOS wasn't too bad yet. Thus, the longer you have it and the worse it gets, the lower the chance for a great recovery. Perhaps that is true? -- who knows.

I hope this is true. As a younger person (25) an having never used narcotics to control my pain pre-surgery, hopefully that puts me in a group that recovers well.

Its subtle bc its so slow

I think this article is spot on. I carried TOS for 12 years before it was diagnosed and had surgery. The first 5 were not too bad. The next 5 were hell. The last two were worse than that. Surgery was 3 1/2 months ago and I am 50. I feel better but seem to be plateauing. I expect to get slow marginal improvements over the next couple of years but will be nowhere near pain free. I am thankful for the mercy I have received though.
