Yes, I'm Navy. Unfortunately found out about my cervical rib after I had done my overseas screening. I've had problems with my shoulder/back/arm since I returned from Iraq in 2009 and then fell down in 2011, making my symptoms worse. But I was told it was a pinched nerve and try PT until primary care got tired of seeing me and finally ordered an x-ray and MRI. I am also active and I enjoy playing cello, two things I don’t want to give up – either because I cannot function due to pain or because surgery didn’t help. I feel like I have more control over my body choosing surgery. Does that make sense? I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.
