Default Sleep help?

Hey everyone,
I was searching through the threads on the forum with not much success. I'm trying to find a sleeping position that won't make me wake up with a sore neck and headache. And maybe a pillow recommendation? I was looking at cervical rolls.
I'm a terrible stomach sleeper but i'm trying my best to switch to my side or back. Any advice is wonderful
Thanks,
-Rini

I do well (or did, before my issues with hip bursitis started) sleeping on either side. I don't use a cervical pillow, but a soft pillow under my head that I can form with extra bulk under my neck and less under my head. I NEED a "huggy" pillow, a firm pillow in front of my chest that I can use to support my arm and stop my shoulder from rolling forward.

Thanks guys! I did use my memory foam clump pillow (has the pieces of memory foam stuff in it) and formed it to be thick by my neck and have a cradle for my head. worked better than what i've been doing.

When you lay on your side, i understand you want the pillow for the arm that's in the air, but what do you do with the shoulder you're laying on? I feel like it collapses in when i lay on my side.

Rini, here is a previous sleep thread: Sleep? Or lack thereof...

I was a stomach sleeper. Stomach sleeping with arms raised really aggravated my symptoms. I tried sleeping on my back unsuccessfully. I now sleep on my side with the side sleeper pillow and hold a down pillow in my arms to keep my arms down and shoulder raised (otherwise I irritate bursitis).

Thanks so much! I will check it out. And my boyfriend has a down pillow and it's lovely. I may have to look into that as well.

My friend rolls a towel and just uses that to support her neck (she had Ntos surgery a yr ago).
Another very good sleep aid is magnesium. Americans are very deficient in magnesium and my sister (also a VTOS surgery patient, 3 yrs ago) told me about magnesium (The Magnesium Miracle by Dr Carolyn Dean). Fascinating informstion, Read that book. We sleep very well now.

I've ingested a lot of herbs, supplements, miracle cures and things I can't pronounce with TOS, but Magnesium has been the most beneficial non-presriptive thing I have taken. Finding the right dose and type can be tricky, but sleep has been reward.
