Default Egoscue Method or something similar

Has anyone heard of and tried Pete Egoscue's exercises and stretches (or something similar) for improved posture and alignment?

Hi,

No. Haven't heard of that. Would like to know more.

Always good to hear about new things.

Hope you find relief.

Yes, I found a couple of his books in my local library years ago.
Most helpful if you may have some misalignments, injuries, or long time desk or sitting postures.

here's his site listing the books- but many can be found in libraries, or online elsewhere.

Yes, I went to an initital consultation. They show you some slight misalignments you have in your posture, most you probably don't even realize, and how to correct them. For example, I have instability in my hips so I naturally carry too much weight in my upper back and shoulders, not so great for TOS. If I could afford it (they don't take insurance), I'd love to see them regularly. They did give me a couple of exercises to do on my own, which I don't do regularly. They are also VERY familiar with TOS and have worked with many people with it. Do you have a clinic near you? If so, I'd call and ask for a consultation.

If you go, ask for Josh and tell him Shea from 24 Hour Fitness sent you. He will give you a free consult. Seriously, if I could afford it, I would buy a package.

Yes Santa Monica. They are in the little complex with Starbucks and Subway on Ocean Park. Upstairs - above the Italian restaurant.

I did the exercises out of one of the books (Pain Free at the PC). Outside of TOS, I had plenty of misalignments and they definitely helped. I didn't get 100% relief, but then nothing has given me 100% relief anyway.

In retrospect, I wish I had gone to a clinic to get specific measurements and exercises.

SM = Santa Monica? Maybe I'll trek out there.

Btw the "most helpful" ranked review here gives advice on which book to get:
http://www.amazon.com/Egoscue-Method...ywords=egoscue

Also, I'm a huge fan of this short but effective stretch set:
http://www.amazon.com/Minutes-Pain-F...dp/0743476476/

Title is overhyped, but the content is still good. Check the reviews for details.
