Confused Need some advice on tos....

hi everyone...im still new to this forum..ok lets come to the point.,for past 4 months ive been having left arm.shoulder, and hand pain together with numbness in half of fourth n fifth finger..so i went to a orthopaedic surgeon n he said im having cubital tunnel syndrome..so they did a ulnar neve submuscular transposition..but after the op the symptoms became worse..so they reffered me to refer me to a hand and microsurgeon.he did all the clinical test for tos n showed a positive sign for tos...my radial pulse disappeared with hand elevated n all the other test also showed positive sign for a neurogenic tos...so the dr did mri,emg and ncs..the mri,emg was normal..butemg showed slight difference..so the dr asked me to do some pt and some anti inflammatory..but the symptoms seem to get worse so the dr decided to perform scelenotomy nfirst rib ressection..so my question is has aynone here had the same prob with a normal mri,ncs and had undergne a surgery..?hope u'll can help me...im in lots n lots n lots of pain..plssss hep me...

Yes, I haven't had surgery , but most imaging & NCV tests show very little for TOS.

I hope you can find very skilled & expert PT, an unskilled PT will make you worse..

Do you have any thoughts on how TOS came about for you?
previous accidents of any kind, repetitive work/poor posture etc?

We have many threads here with surgery info and self help too, use the search link in my siggy below to find more info.
Sometimes weekends/summer time are slower for replies..

I have not had surgery yet, but the same thing happened to me. All of my tests/scans came back normal.

Hi there, did u have abnormal ncs at elbow? I had lt ulnar n. decompression due to an abnormal ncs at elbow. 2yrs later had rt shoulder acromian decompression. 1yr later
Neck fushion surgery. 6 mos later wasxdx with Bilateral TOS and had lt tos surgery. I'm schedule. for rt side in 2 wks. I think u are lucky ur tests arexall normal it makes dx easier, not so confusing. Ortho. Drs don't usually dx tos. I would look for TOS specialist.
They do Ct scans to look for narrowing of veins & arteries, which sounds like u mite have this problem. Also can see if u have extra cervical ribs.
Hope this helps u! Dont. give up! Tos is very hard to dx.
Rhonda

had neck cushion surgery.
