Do you ever notice your symptoms are worse when you do activities requiring you to lean forward? Like driving, pushing a stroller, computer work, etc?
My face pain really increases w/these activities. |

Yes I still do at times.. but it was really bad in 03-05. I did 10 hr day assembly work and a large part of it was with arms out and holding parts and such..
I didn't get face pain but more burning in upper back muscles and achy burning neck and shoulders. I did get a terribly annoying watery eye and more from trigger points. Some of it is from the tired fatigued muscles having to hold /balance weight of the head.. our head can weight up to 14 lbs!! and the more you lean forward the more the body has to hold that weight.. For face pain have you read about referred pain from trigger points? we have a sticky thread with trigger point info..

Try a standing work station for the computer, or a reclining position for computer work. Hold your shoulders back and down when pushing a stroller. I drive with my hands primarily at 6 o'clock or 5 and 7, Remember, you want to do things that open the thoracic outlet, not close it. Try strengthening your back muscles. Do not strengthen the pec minor or pec major. Try getting a foam roller to stretch your back on. |

Yes! Its the worst aggrivator for my pain to flareup. It is difficult to manage too, with chairs, seats, furniture in general being made awkwardly with 'neck support' that can push my head forward. I've even turned my car head rest around-no way can i drive with it in normal position.
I also ran across an article on 'upper crossed syndrome'...google it and see if it looks like it fits how youre feeling. Take care & gentle hugs~ ![]()
