Default Angioplasty for temporary relief?

I was recently diagnosed w/ vtos on my left side. I had an angioplasty a few weeks ago where they put small balloons in my vein to open it up a little bit, and am also on blood thinners. So far my symptoms have gotten better but im waiting for the day where it begins to wear off and they return. Has anyone else had any success with this procedure. Are having these every 2-3 months a long term solution and alternative to a first rib resection which was recommended for my case? Will these, coupled with some PT or something similar help me avoid surgery for say, the next 10 years. Any info will be appreciated. I am a very active person, my college major is geared toward being very active in the woods, and I love lifting weights. I am very nervous about losing all of this.

I was diagnose with vascular TOS and was recommended angioplasty next month during my scheduled veno&angiogram, I am looking forward to it. To tell you the true I would like a surgery instead (please take my ribs and scalene muscles). I want to see what to surgeon have to say after the process. I will push for surgery, if not I will see another surgeon I want to be free forever and not have to deal with this again.
Are you at all nervous about surgery worsening things and being unable to lift almost anything for an extended amount of time, if not ever? This worries me the most. I love being active, and I cannot imaging being bound to a recliner the rest of my life.
