Hey guys, sorry, one of those posts....
So last time I talked to my surgeon's office they advised I should try to do some normal people activities, you know...try to drive a little more, simulate a day at work, etc. So I tried to live like a normal person and it was bearable until I pulled the "a day at the office" stunt. OMG, I haven't had nerve pain in my arms in months, but they are back. The worst part is the pain never fully went away and it's been well over a week. Needless to say that made me anxious which made me hurt even more. Apparently that is related to the blood pressure and too much blood running through those veins that are not fully used to the flow? Honestly, I'm tired of trying to understand this horrible disease, I mean I had two surgeries, did everything under the sun...I don't understand why things still don't work properly. Yes, I am grateful I am better but the reality is I'm still not able to work or live a completely normal life. I can't stop obsessing about the future and my failed life. |

Hi Nelly, Unfortunately,
there's a lot of stories like yours and mine out there. Hang in there and good luck!

Anxiety & tension makes the muscles clamp down and then we breath more shallowly limiting the oxygen to the cells..
Bad flare ups can take a couple of weeks to resolve so try to use relaxation and calming techniques to get thru this time.. and plenty of fluids to keep tissues lubricated.. If you are extremely anxious and can't relax at all, ask for a Rx for temporary use.

Jo, you are so right..I actually spent two days crying and the pain became so bad I had to take Vicodin. I do have a prescriptions for Xanax and I did take it for 2 days and calmed down.
The nerve pain is a little better after more rest, still having issues with scapula pain. Things seem to be calming down but of course I am not doing much at all. Listening to zen music... |
