Default Namenda

Okay, so I had to go off the Memantine XR because my insurance wouldn't cover it. I had been feeling pretty good while taking this....

I searched this in the forums and a couple of people said they took it and it was supposed to help with nerve pain, but it helped them more with depression.

I know I wrote on here that it helped me with memory, I think perhaps it is hard to think when in constant pain.... I know it helped me a lot with my pain because earlier in the spring I was able to do more things around my house than I can now...especially yardwork, I love to garden, but my body just doesn't let me do this anymore. I seriously would be so happy if I could just pick dandelions all day.

Anyway, I am going to try the non XR generic, Namenda now. The doctor is prescribing 10 mg a day for me at this point. I was up to 28 mg of the XR per day. I can get 180 of the 10 mg (strongest dose) Namenda for $79 at Walmart with a coupon from goodrx.com. I will let you guys know how it goes....

I went to go pick up my medicine today, and it turned out that my insurance covered the regular Memantine - I only had to pay $10 for a 3 month supply instead of $79!!!! Made my day!
