Crazy We All Scream for... Well, We All Just Scream; That's the Dang Problem!

hi you guys, i'm still hanging in there, i guess. waiting for godot.

my daughter's biopsy is finally schedded for next week, so i guess the week after next we'll have the beginnings, anyway, of a better idea as to whether she wants to start tx now or wait a few years for the FDA to approve better drugs, and up the odds for her to beat this damned thing. she only has a 50-50 shot based on her genotype and the current standard of tx.

but if she does go forward and the tx makes her too ill, odds are her doc would stop the tx anyway...

which means i should probably get off my duff and start looking at denver airfare rates. it's just so hard to contemplate a TOS re-do surgery when your only child is facing a major decision like this one. if she does decide to seek tx now, i want to be there for her. chelsea may be an adult, but she is still my little girl.

she will always be my baby. you moms out there understand, i know that you do. and lest it go completely unappreciated, ahem... let me just say that i should be getting some type of TOS academy award for my dramatic performance over the past few months : this kid has absolutely no idea that i'm waiting on her to make my own plans for a complete scalenectomy.

probably i'll let sam do the honors, but i gotta make a run and meet david and chuck for luck... i'm sure cases like mine make the lot of 'em nervous as catz. i'm in that dread 1% where surgery is the only option (well, it's surgery or let the hand fall off; that's IT). now the first surgery's run into some complications... i don't want to lose my hand. i've grown rather attached to it.

did you guys realize that hands are rationed? you only get 2 to a lifetime? kinda stingy, if ya ask me!!!

could eat a LOT more icecream if i had more HANDZ.

oh, just strap a bucket of the stuff around my neck and give me a big straw, somebody!

icepacks, icecream...and thou. there, all set. i'd like to thank the academy, the forum, the people who knew me "when,"... yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah ... roadtrip to denver ... shelley where are you ... annie come home ... johanna's a madwoman ... my dog ate my medical file ... thoracic whatlet? ... XOXOXO
