I wanted to thank everyone for all this extensive information. When I posted regarging my MRI stating muscle "thinning", my inexperience in medical language did not register that as atrophy. It really hit hard. Muscle thinning doesn't sound as bad as atrophy. I greatly appreaciate the time you all have taken in giving me all the information on this topic.
I do not exercise on a regular basis but am not over weight for my height. After my last PT session I am afraid of a therapist so I am kind of unsure what to do. but am looking at all the information you have given me. Thanks again, I don't know what I would do without this site. Linda |

The first symptoms of atrophy in my hand appeared when I was 10, now I am 20 , and I am beginning to notice that my hand has no growth at all. it is just the hand of a 10 year old girl and I am now beginning to worry a bit.
I am wondering if I have surgery now, will that probably help further on? I mean, will my hand start growing from now on? |

Hopeful,
Is the bone size & structure of the hands the same but with loss of muscle/fat, or did the one hand never grow at all since age 10? Welcome to the forum also.
