Frown Ugh, Decreased GFR in Blood Panel

So, I went into my primary MD and had my 6 month blood panel drawn. I just got the results yesterday and in the Comprehensive Metabolic PNL for the first time she told me that I am showing a lower number in the GFR Estimated (MRD), @ 57.35 normal being [>60.00] my creatinine is still with in normal range at [1.1] My MD told me that it isn't a number to be concerned about but this is new as my liver and kidney functions have always been good.
Gee, I guess all these meds are starting to get to me now after 6 years. She didn't suggest to change anything at this time. I have started to take Milk Thistle 175mg daily again for liver cleansing.
So moral of the story make sure you get your blood work done on a regular basis when your on a pharmacy of meds....
Hugs
Dawn

Sorry to hear this, Dawn. Hope it's just temporary and you get better results with the next test....I've read/heard great things about milk thistle for the liver.

Dawn - I hope you get better results w/ the next test.... but i'll admit i don't know what the heck GFR or MRD are, and the last definition of PNL I had was "Profit and Loss." Good point about watching the liver and the kidneys tho.... thats something I've had in the back of my mind for a while, esp. since ALOT of pain meds have acetiemonphen (sp?) which can tear up your liver.

anywho... take care!!

Heart

Dawn, I don't know what those letters mean either, BUT,

This year when I got diabetes II in July from Lyrica, I weaned myself off of my antidepressant, muscle relaxer, etc. Anything I could do without, that really, I didn't see a difference anymore.

When I stopped MOTRIN, my liver enzymes healed right up. But I still had (have) a fatty liver from the Lyrica and Cymbalta regimen.

Can you consider this?

And yes, milk thistle. NO alcohol at all. (I've always done that.)

However, for those who do drink, I learned that organic wine has very low sulfites - I am really allergic to those - so perhaps a glass of that per day would be actually beneficial to us, as it wouldn't create the inflammatory response regular drinks do.

God bless.

Oops,
I guess I should have been more specific. They kind of lost me too.
I believe that it has to do with your Liver and Kidneys...
I'll try to find out more and let you know or maybe one of the nurses can chime in and let us know the specifics...
