Hi there. I have been reading the posts on this forum periodically and have found them helpful. I am in the midst of examinations for a list of symptoms that sound like TOS. The majority of my problems began this summer after a full black out followed by vomitting and fatigue. I came out of the faint with a searing pain across my right deltoid. Basically, I have not been the same since with heavy fatigued arms, hot/cold pains running down my arms, up my neck into back of head. More than the pains though I can't handle the way I feel on most days and that is nauseous, tired, slightly dizzy and on the verge of a faint. These are the symptoms that I have not heard TOSer's talk about on a regular basis, do any of you feel ill like this most days? It feels like a hangover or morning sickness. I have been told that it is vaso vagal nerve response, any input? My past history that may have contributed to this are:
-personal fitness trainer-work out extensively myself (especially overhead) -damage to clavicle 3 years ago -whiplash 1 1/2 yrs ago -long neck I would appreciate any input that you can give as I am still waiting for a referal to the specialist in the area and feel a little lost as to what to do next Thanks tingling in left hand & shldr blade 6 years ago that went away after about 1 year |

when you blacked out did you fall and hit your head/shoulders?
at the early onset of my RSI/TOS I had dizzy spells often, with some nausea on and off. I had a spell of Vertigo a year before that so I thought I was having that again, but the Dramamine didn't work at all for these symptoms. I did go home a time or 2 thinking I had the flu, but was OK as soon as I rested. { no arm use etc ![]()

I don't think I hit my head Jo, not in anyway that injured me if that's what you mean. I was actually sitting on the toilet (blush) at the time. I had woken up and felt sick in the middle of the night (had happened two times before) when I passed out I fell backwards against the wall then forward on to my knees (freaked my poor husband right out). I have had all the usual heart tests done and nothing so I am now awaiting the neurological tests and a referral to a vascular specialist. From everything I have read it sounds like a very long a difficult diagnosis for TOS. I'm just thankful that a friend I have who is a RN suggested TOS because if she hadn't I think my doctors would have kept following the cardiologist route.
Thanks for all the welcomes! |

I was thinking maybe your c spine, or c1/c2 got bumped enough to cause the worsening symptoms.

Hello
![]() I know how scary and confusing it is to be feeling all this sensation and pain, and not knowing what is causing it just makes it more so. I'll pray that the specialists that you see figures out what is wrong and get you feeling better soon. You're in good company. There are plenty of good people here. Hang in there.... Judy ![]()

Damage to clavicle jumps out at me.
More so than your exercise, because so many people exercise just fine. (If you said computer, that would jump out at ME, since that's what got me.) But damage to clavicle is awfully close in proximity to the brachial plexus (BP around here.) I am going to post my list of tests. I am sorry you're going through this, but you are doing what many of us need to do with neuro conditions - be our own doctors, go through the testing, take in the information and let our instincts tell us what to do next. I place my trust in the three top Denver docs - I've seen two and would place my life in both. God bless. |
