Truly a joke , the therapy that is, tried it and it seems to be some kind of relaxation technique , but for me utterly ineffective.

I tried it - to me it was a bit weird, I expect a massage to give me some relief and instead it was just like "ohhhh I can feel this muscle relaxing" etc, etc...for me there was no obvious signs of relief.

I have had cranio-sacral from a massage therapist who did trigger point type work, and my PT who is osteopathic based. The trigger point type was not so impressed with, but I did have some good results from.
THe osteopathic type...fantastic. she would sort of moosh around your whole head, moving the plates of your skull ever so slightly, releasing the dura where it is stuck, great stuff...REALLY helped me with headaches after surgery that I am sure were from muscle tightness...you know, neck trying to hold itself up without a few of the normal muscles and all... i also have TMJ like pains a lot, and it was helpful for that. i woudl imagine it is practitioner specific. I would look for an osteopath who performs it, personally. good luck, though! Johanna

Awesome!!!! Love cranio sacral. Had both the osteo type and whatever the other is.
PT used to do it. I have gone to an osteo and had it at a spa. Make sure they are upledger trained. Thats the guy who invented it. |
