Default Diagnosis

At first they thought I was having a heart attack, then it became a breast tissue and gynecological check, then it was orthopaedic (who said it was nothing) then my general dr prescribed physical therapy. The therapist was the one who diagnosed me and referred me to Dr. Ahn's office in LA. It took about 4 months of testing and luckily my therapist was smart enough to recognize it!

Good for your therapist!!!! My physical therapist also recognized it but my dr. doesn't believe I have it as all the tests have been negative so far (xrays, EMG, MRI of the rotator cuff area, CT, and ultrasound). He doesn't know at this point what's wrong and I was trying to find out what all other things could have similar symptoms.

Hi! First I was diagnosed as having Lyme disease. Then herniated disc at C5-C-6. After many tests I had disc replacement surgery. They took bone from my hip and replaced the disc. Unfortunately for me, it was unnecessary. I wasn't diagnosed properly for another year. Oh well! What's one year! The only good thing that came from this is that I became pregnant and had a wonderful daughter in 11/02. My others were 12, 10, and 7. If I hadn't gone through all I had, I don't think I would have become pregnant. I believe things happen for a reason. Not always good, but sometimesgreat! Linda

Mine was frozen shoulder...treated for 2 years and surprisingly just kept getting worse. Then thought carpal tunnel...and that test showed up negative. When it got so I could not llift my arm due to weakness I was sent for doppler ultrasound and was found being blocked off in certain positions.took 3 years of tests.

Teeth what a funny thread, good one!

Let's see... inner ear disfunction, cancer, all in my head, migraine, cat scratch feever, bursitis, carpal tunnel, spinal misallignment, vitamin deficiency.

I was in a 10 flare yesterday and coincidentally had a Dr appt with my GP. I crawled in, suffering emensely. Out of the useless 20 minute visit, 10 minutes were spent being grilled about my childhood. So I guess you can add to the above list: traumatic childhood events.
