Is/was the lump soft or firm and about what size was it?

Trigger points are usually fairly small knots - I think generally about the size of a pea or pencil eraser or even smaller - unless you have major problems and knots on top of knots. This is just my observance from mine though.

Under the armpit could be swollen lymph nodes also.
Therapist would do lymph drainage technique then , you can do some of it your self.
It's just basically a light stroke of the skin towards the heart.
