Again I was denied a Rx that I have been using for...forever now. This is how they get the ball rolling I guess. Things have been quiet in the world of W/C and I guess they needed to start things up again( Naturally for the holidays)They first begin by not covering 1 of my 3 rx's that I've been on for 18 months...then I get a letter for an IME...in Philadelphia, as usual....next I guess they will be following me. That seems to be the routine. Hopefully the next $$$$offer will be one we should take and I'd like to be rid of this whole W/C thing. Then maybe I can feel a little more normal. It is almost 4 years and I just want my life back...a life without IME's, FCE's, IRE's , EMG"s , hearings...notices........judges.......sleepless nights, not because of the TOS, but because I wonder if this time they will stop my checks. Sorry everyone, I just needed to vent. I use to cry and get worked up when they did this to me, but now I just get mad and I have realized that this is part of the drill. Anyone relate????? Thanx for listening!!!! I'll have to post this all by itself, too!!!

Sorry you're having to go through all this frustration! I'm not on WC, but I understand a little of what you're going through...we're having arbitration for my case in Dec (it was an auto accident with a drunk driver), so I've got appointments all over the place to try to get last minute things done before that. We were a no-fault state at the time of the accident, so our insurance has been paying the bills, but the last surgery exhausted those funds and now we have to use our private insurance, which involves co-pays and deductibles... We're on one income and these "extras" aren't in the budget.
Mine's been going on 4 1/2 years, too...I am really wanting it to be over, too! I hope you can get your Rx straightened out soon and get a decent settlement offer, so you can move on with your life. Even if the TOS doesn't go away, it seems like it would be easier if you're not always running here and there for W/C...not to mention worrying about your checks. Vent away, I think that's what this board is here for! Donna |

Lately, w/c got to me. They made me cry. I really wonder how this woman sleeps at night knowing that she messes with me so often. Perhaps she has a terrible life and needs to take it out with me. If she'd just say it, we'd probably find a solution to her problems, rather than this way she's got going.

The first adjustor I had for W/C told me she thinks everyone can work...no matter what. My mom wants to know if this happened to her or someone in her family, how would she feel then? I am thankful to have a great husband and even though my kids are still young, they are very understanding and I have a good family that helps me as much as they can. W/C really puts alot of stress on a person and I think there should be better laws that protect us. I know people aren't honest when it comes to a comp. case, but there has to be a better way for them to work things out. I see a doctor once a year that knows how I feel, but said I can work 8 hours a day one time and the next put me on partial duty.....the judge said he wasn't credible when it came to court, but they still make me see him. And thank God for Dr. Togut!!! He's the best and I don't work because of him. But, when it comes to W/C, I just have bitter feelings. They really mess with you and now, for me, it's right in time for the hoidays!!! I hope you all have a pain free--stress free--w/c free day!!!!!

This ties in with my bills & collections thread - the after affects of a work comp claim.
Only believe half -or less -of what your comp atty tells you when you are negotiating for a settlement. Like : "you can submit any leftover bills to your personal med ins " yeah right - if the comp case hasn't dragged on beyond their 1 yr time frame. AND this is a big one- my pvt med ins - policy excludes paying for any work injury {still not sure if this means - disputed, denied or accepted only??} and of course can't seem to get a straight answer from any of the "parties"! If the above doesn't work- my comp atty said "you can negotiate a lesser amount to pay the overdue bills" "I can help you with that" Yeah right! per the collections lady! My hosp/billing supposedly does not negotiate for lesser amounts?? baloney I think! You can see I'm still venting about this part of the WC mess! other than that I 'm glad to be done, almost, with it! |

Krankie sorry you are going through this I haft to say I agree WC makes it hard for us all to get treatments, with delays and stalling they end up sometimes making people worse if they could see the big picture it would be cheaper for them, sure I know some people abuse this system and should pay a price for it but dont already pass judgment on us all as being guilty we are injured and just want to heal or try to get back some use of our bodies like befor our injuries. I for one just wanted to get back to work at first, then it was I wanted to be fixed to be normal again, now it is just get me to a place I will be comfortable AUGH! well Krankie now I'm kranky just venting with you,hey we all are in this togather so vent on...
