may all have a bright pain-free day Mark~n~Goober
Nice to hear from you Mark! I come in here time to time and it's nice to hear how everyone is doing. I am getting by. As everyone, some days are better than others. The end of the day is usually the worst. I always forget my limitations. I am going to Mt. Sinai to see a new doctor next week. I hope I get some answers. I was put on Cymbalta and after 2 days stopped. I was having to take a nap every day and that I CAN"T do!

Luckily weather has improved. I always find rain makes my pain much worse. For some reasons doctors always usually say that doesn't happen. What do they know.

Have a great day, Linda

Default Hello!

I just jump in the forum and say "hello".
Nice to see Mark and all the others!!!

What happens in my life?
in march I had my 5th shoulder surgery and 3 weeks later I developped a deep vein thrombosis - so I have to take anti-coagulants for 6 month and I have to wear compression stockings. very nice in summer.....

In february the vascular surgeon found out that the compression of my arterial TOS is on the second rib. He recommended physical therapy (and this does definitely not work with my shoulder!!) and if the artery is too much damaged, they will take a vessel from the leg....with the thrombosis, this will be difficult.

Sometimes, I dream of a day without sorrow, pain, meds,....but I think we all do so.
I wish you all a lot of power to cope with the illness.
Very nice greetings
Barbara

Barbara, I am sorry for all you are going through. You seem to be dealing with a very difficult time right now. I hope you have a good medical team to back you up. I hope you have family/friends to help you through this. Don't worry about the stockings. Tell people it is the new trend that either Madonna or Michael Jackson started! Who cares. Only you being well is what matters. Linda

Today I... hope everyone is doing well, enjoying the Memorial Day weekend. Lets remember all of our service men and women.

knock wood...I'm having a pretty good couple of days. I am having Chevy small-block withdrawals though - I saw a 68 Camaro SS 396 at the gas station last night

Default Hello!

I want to thank Linda for the genius idea to present the stocking as a "new style" - I haven`t seen it from this side....:-)

My friends and my family are on my side, they help and support me. I am very thankful!
But at work I have had some troubles...hope this calms down.

I wish you a good and pain free (or low pain level) day!

All the best wishes,
Barbara

Default today i put my head in the sand

dad got an offer on his house so he can come live with me in texas. at 88 yrs old dad has gotten to be quite convincible. only problem is different family members try to convince him of different things. he ends up being stuck on the pushiest people's advice. fortuneately the one thing nobody can convince him of is to move anywhere else but texas. but all the other being pulled in other directions really has me down. every day is a new exercise in calming dad down. usually it's something he has gotten in his head that isn't even true. about 5 phone calls later he is reassured until the next time he speaks to a pushy family member. i am quite sure all this stress is not good for him but i can't seem to get certain family members to cease & desist.

so today i came in to work with yesterday heavy on my mind and buried myself in work. i came up for break, and then i noticed people were taking a 2nd break. i thot that was because the boss was out of town. later on i looked up and realized that the 2nd break was my lunch hr, which i totally missed. i had lunch at 3pm.
