HI all,

As you may have read on the community forum or http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread52684.html on the last Today I thread we are having some server problems so I am starting a new Today I thread....

Today I struggled a bit with the frozen shoulder in my left shoulder and it aggravated the TOS....some tingling in those digits

So welcome to the new Today I...I hope everyone had a comfortable relaxing and painfree Sunday

Default home sweet home

today I am pleased to be back in Calgary and have my animals home from the kennel!

Missed Calgary and home a lot! On the heat right now can't say enough about those wonderful heat pads for arthritis or sore back tht last about 12 hrs....GODSEND on the airplane kept me with heat and didn't have to take nearly as much extra medication than normal!!!! Hope some of you will try them on long drives or on long trips that we all sooooo LOVE to take!!!

Hope all are snug in bed at this late hour as I am and have a wonderful tomorrow! Oh and thank GOD for our partners and family....I really would be nowhere without mine so 3 cheers for Marc....yeah for you babe!!!

love and hugs to you all,
Victoria

Well, I went to a neurologist last week to follow up after my concussion(s?)... He gave my head a clean bill of health (feel free to insert joke here about my brain having alot of room to rattle around my head... ) but he was curious about the list of Dx AND Rx . He looked at my left arm and said "Wow, that is much different than the right!," checked the musculature, sensory responses etc etc. He asked if I had had surgery yet. I didn't particularly care for some of his mannerisms, but it was nice to have a doc seem to care, and not just doubt everything I said.
Anyways- I hope all are doing well- Shelley and finz, I hope your shoulders stop giving you trouble!!

I don't want to sound like a "hall monitor"....but...

I do want to remind everyone that Mark, Dday, started this thread years ago and it is something of a badge of honor that it lasted so long.

So yes, we need to start a new one for technical reasons...

But Mark, thank you man, for a GREAT THREAD IDEA and we'll always wish you well.

Default today i

at midnite i woke up and noticed sm needed to go potty, so she uncovered herself and laid there waiting for me to notice. yes she has a bell but she can't remember she has it. helped her on commode, helped her off, struggled with her panties, helped her drink. made chipped ice, spoonfed her, went to bed.

4 am heard a knock thot i was dreaming, but it was sm potty call again. this time we had a struggle she asked me to lower bed and since it is already as low as it goes i could not comply. managed not to let her fall. same as above but after i went potty too and cried in bathroom.

5am sm potty call. 7am sm potty call. 8am made commode same height as bed. put two atlases under her feet so she could reach floor. decided to lower it one notch. hooked up iv to pic line. changed g tube bandage soaked with puss. ate breakfast. lay down for 5 minute nap. gave dad a computer lesson. agreed with him that
computers are evil (its easier to agree). discussed plumbing project.

Caregiving is hard when you need care. Just a note about potty chairs. Do you line the bucket with small trash can liners, trash bags. Put three or four on at a time. No mess or clean up unless... well, you know.

It's also a good idea to put chucks (those blue lined pads) under the bed in case they don't make it to the potty chair in time. Just use your foot because your hands are usually on the patient. Pulls out quickly on slick blue side.

You're a good person to help out.

Default Emg

Last EMG showed I hacve plexus in left and bad ulnar nerve in left. Also worried about cervical problems in neck. Also said minimum Carpat tunnel/median nerve impairement.(It sure feels worse then that.)BUT is also showed that right Plexus has normalized.

How can that be?

My right shoulder is still frozen and I have pain in right side shoulder area. I don't believe that.

Theses tests are a pain in the neck.(Pun not intended)

Billy027 - EMG's are the worst. I have had 2 and a recent doctor suggested another. I don't think I could do it. I think you could use them as a military aid to get information from prisoners. I know I would tell all!

Di - Yes, the economy has really been a problem with our business. Heating and Air conditioning is seasonal but people will put off anything that is not necessary. Also, they are shopping around for the cheapest prices and we can only go so low on a price without loosing money. Our overhead is very high with insurance, gas, mortgages on two buildings, trucks, etc. I am cheap labor! We have one other girl in the office and she is working well. The others who were there were extremely over paid and not doing a good job. We used to catch one playing games or watching movies on the computer! The worst part was she was being paid too much and a relative! I didn't hire her my husband did. Also, Dr. S. said that it is not fibromyalgia and not to let any doctor tell me it is.

Kids are great. Oldest daughter (18) is in college in Manhattan, David had 4th surgery on his leg but has improved greatly, Dan in 8th grade and little one in kindergarten! I am all over the place. She has her first father/daughter dinner dance in 2 weeks. My husband has to start all over! He is excited also though. Di - I hope you are doing ok.

To everyone else, have a great weekend - Mark - haven't heard from you in awhile, I hope you are ok. Dabbo hope you are feeling better - Tam - I am going to pm you about my surgery. Thanks, Linda
