Default Is this a crazy question

I know that I haven't been officially diagnosed yet. But has anyone ever had problems with their teeth? I don't know if it's TOS symptom or if its something else..since so much has been going on with me lately.

The inside of my mouth in the roof of my mouth on the left side is swollen, one of my teeth feels like it's loose but could this also be sinus problems.

I just went to the dentist because this has been going on now for a couple of weeks. He took a full mouth xray, when you look at the xray you would think that the entire front top portion of my mouth is all abcess'..so the doctor is stumped on this one. I go back Tuesday he is going to take individual xrays of each tooth and then sit down and try to figure this out.

He said could be...

1. Delay problem from the car accident when the air bag hit my face. I already had one root that was broke.

2. Allergic reaction to Cipro antibiotic that I was on after my surgery for my cervical spine in Aug.

3. Some type of sinus issue...maybe from TOS???

4. Maybe an issue from the tube from the general anesthesia.

So I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any issues with their mouth because of TOS....

Hi and a welcome from me \
When I had this complaint, finally the pulmonary doc found it with a cat scan. It was a low sinus infection that was aggrivating my asthma. I had to take sulfa meds to get rid of it.
I had a sister that had root cannals done dentist thought it was abcess and teeth issue and she still had the symptoms, but ended up a year later two root canals with a diagx of sinus.

BUT, with your gum swollen it sound like an abcess problem. Can you take some antibiotic?
Oh, somewhere on the I-net...Oh, www.yourlawyer.com something about Cipro and potential problems...OH, it was tendon rupture.
One med was problem with Jaw but I can;t remember which one.
With TOS the problem is meds that cause dry mouth and then the wear down of enamal causes dental issues. There are products to use for the mouth to help with that.

Not sure why, but my dd had a lot of dental issues with abcesses with TOS. We never could figure out other then the dry mouth.
Hope you can get it cleared up.
Dianne

Default neuromuscular dentistry

This may not have anything to do with your symptoms, but it's something to consider. TOS mimics so many different conditions.

TMJ/TMD

Listen to this testimonial - sounds so much like TOS symptoms!

The muscles spasms in your neck muscles as well as trigger points- if you have them - can cause all kinds of weird sx and pain in your whole head.

This interactive clickable chart is one I really like for tracking down possible TrPs -

TrP user/info guide -
http://www.pressurepointer.com/Users1.htm
{a tennis ball against the wall or on the floor works really well for the pressure part- or the thumb of a friend for those hard to reach TrPs }

I am on the TMJ bandwagon. It was making the nerves that run in my jaw so painful and inflamed that I would wake up at night with pain from my jaw to my ear and even pain deep in my ear.

Its partially because of the way I sleep based on the TOS and the cervical neck issues. At one point the jaw clenching was so bad when I slept the right side of my top lip was numb and tingling. And because the nerves in that area were so inflamed I inflamed the nerves going to my ear and I had these off balance symptoms. I finally went to the ear nose and throat doc and was like I must have a sinus infection and he examined me and said nope a bad cas of TMJ.

I finally got a mouth guard and it is so much better! How can I tell? Well this week because I have a head cold I just could not sleep with the mouth guard and sure enough that pain is back the last two days. Luckily the cold is almost gone so I can go back to wearing it.

Good luck!

Hi,

I once thought this was a silly question! My face / teeth ache everyday. After 5 x box's antibiotics and a CT scan of sinus area, no sinus. Just TOS!

I hope you have a happy mouth soon

Also I wanted to share that I've attributed my bleeding gums from Ibuprofen since I've been fighting my RSIs. I do have gingivitis and they only bleed when I take Ibuprofen instead of Acetaminophen. Nothing serious, and probably unrelated to your condition but just wanted to throw that out there. :P

Thanks..it's just so crazy all these things going wrong and not knowing if they are because of TOS or something else.

I also have this horrible drainage behind both of my ears..not coming from my ears but behind them like on my scalp, I woke up last night and my left side was worse it was like my scalp was pouring water and itches so bad.

Do any of you every have any problems elsewhere on your body. Like if I stand for more than 10 minutes my left leg goes numb in my thigh area on the outside.

Then I noticed yesterday when I got into my car that it felt like I had a lump just below my bra line on my right side.

My breathing issues seem to be getting worse I have really been using my inhaler alot.....

I can't sleep..I go to sleep right away but I wake up 30 minutes later and then every hour on the hour there after...I am so tired...

Oh I can't wait for my doctor's appointment on Thursday!!!!
