I'm a darvocet supporter. It's been my drug of choice (along with a muscle relaxant) for many years.

One really good thing about darvocet is the way it breaks down in the liver. If you have to be on any pain killer long-term, darvocet is one of the best for you because of the way it breaks down in your body. Even though it is acetaminophen, whatever other component it has in it causes it to break down completely differently in your system from straight acetaminophen.

Anyway, when i learned that -- and I've had several docs and med students offer this information to me when they found out I was on it, long term -- It made me feel better about being on something long term.

And I need a drug that zaps the pain without acting like too much of a narcotic. I need to go to work, I need to function. I've found that darvocet gives me just enough pain relief to do normal activities without anyone knowing I am on medication.

This drug has been around forever. They prescribe it to everyone. No wonder it has a higher rate of OD -- it's prescribed more often than anything else!

This is so stupid, that they'd consider banning it after all of these years.
A safe drug that breaks down safely in your system. Yah, let's ban that.
