Good job Jens...
You explained it very well. NEUORTIN, seizure medications deadens the brain.

I had so many bad reaction symptoms it put me in the ER after a week of nightmarish he11.

No, no doctor Rx'ed it that way. My doctors were very conflicting about Neurontin and Ativan. I haven't been to a doc in over a year now.

I can't work on Neurontin. I'm a stenographer and I can't be slowed down by a drug. I have to be able to think quickly. I need the opposite effect. However, it did help my symptoms. I never found a doctor, even those prescribing it, who really liked it for neuropatic pain. It is for seizures. I refused it for years because of that. No I've not had seizures because of the sporadic administering of Neurontin, but I know that's a risk. I understand you're even supposed to wear a MEDIC ALERT if you're on Neurontin.

I would take it on a Fri, Sat and recover on Sun and be ready to go on Mon... would pack on more pain as the week went on. It's just a drug I can't take and work at my job. Do better handling the pain and other problems from injuries. Certainly wasn't easy either way.

You have to do what you have to do to get by. No easy fixes here.
Wow! I've never heard about the Medic Alert requirement. Where are you located? I'm in the U.S., in Calif. Everyone I have seen has recommended Neurontin for me, ( and I have been to quite a few of the Dr.'s listed in the stickies in both Northern and Southern CA.) and have explained it's primary use is for seizures. It is one of those drugs that has secondary uses.

My father who has peripheral neuropathy from diabetes takes it too. I take him to his appts. as he no longer drives. His Dr. never has mentioned a Medic Alert for the Neurontin, tho he has one for his diabetes. I'll have to ask his Dr., as well as mine about the Medic Alert for the Neurontin.

Thanks for the info.

Hey Maddy

Yeah, and I just Googled and found this URL. Hope it works.

http://www.drugs.com/neurontin.html

It's because its a seziure medication. In an emergency situation, responders and ERs and Drs need to know you're on that.
