do you ever find yourself second guessing your ability of being a good parent?
This past month has been horrible with scott... I honestly dont know if hes going to make it through this last month of school....
Yesterday he got home before anybody else and forgot his house key, so he went in through his bedroom window He put his binder, backpack, notebooks, schoolprojects etc.... on the ground so he could get through the window... Long story short, he left them there all night. Which normally would not have been a big deal BUT we've been getting rain the past couple days...
EVERYTHING is soaked... class projects destroyed, notebooks soaked, his books are drenched..... sigh.......... we've only got one month left of school. of course none of this was his fault.... he saw ants on his window seal and freaked and had to find the bug spray I've got a call into his OHI teacher to see if she can help me out here... I've got a sneaking suspision his A's and B's are going to quickly drop to all C's......

so goofy...ya lost the ole kiddo manuel huh? i think what ya need in chapter 27. not sure...i mighta skipped that one.

he will get through this. so will you. those type of things happen to all kids. it's spring. end of school year. the fever is hitting.

getting in touch with his ohi teacher is a good idea.

turining in wet rain soaked work helps. lil'monkey left her backpack on the bumper of the suburban. we got the same rain storm you did. she took her backpack in...and her teacher gave her 3 more days. she won't get full credit for her project...but better than getting a 0.

I agree...dont discard the water ruined stuff...it is proof he did it and will hopefully count for something

He already knows that hes going to be the one to pay for his books LOl
The book store said he could work the summer to pay his debt. Thats probally what he'll end up doing. we sure dont have the money to replace every book of his that got water damage to it. I'm sorry if i sound whiney.... theres so much more to this than just his books, papers and projects getting wet. HIs teachers have bent over backwards to accomodate him and help him this year. He just wont take responsibility for anything he does. theres always an excuse... its always somebody elses fault... Who knows what he told his teachers...
ANYWAY i've been drying out his stuff.. our den is covered with towels and wet papers everywhere. LOL. I've got all of his french stuff dry, now i'm starting on science. Both of these classes he has a notebook with stuff from the beginning of the year he has to turn in at the end of the year for a huge part of his final grade. Hes had to save every paper hes done all year in both of these classes.... what a mess....
ANYWAY like i said i hope i dont sound to whiney. If the truth be known i came back to delete or change what i wrote earlier.... I'm gonna go read chapter 27 right now curious.....

you don't sound whiney at all.

it can be soooo frustrating. not to mention expensive. bubbamonkey in one school year lost 3 new coats...left them in classrooms. had 2 pair of soccer cleats stolen out of locker. those were a few hundred bucks a pair. he swears he shut his lock.

i'm glad he is going to work off the books himself.

i'm hoping more will come along with some tips. do you have a drying rack for your dryer?
