Wow, I reckon that's a really good haul you got there from that book sale. Great way to get to read books by recycling like that.
I'm sorry you've been sick with a virus. Hope by now you're feeling much better! |

Any suggestions about holding a book up to read it? Sometimes I just want to snuggle up a bit to read a book, but am having major difficulty with my neck and upper arms so just holding the book is difficult unless I want to sit in a chair all the time.

I read in bed. I have done so since I can remember.
I read newspapers and magazines sitting up, tho. Seems I can concentrate better when my body is relaxed. I am also very nearsighted and bed is closer up to the book. I use pillows to support the books and usually lie on my side. Some books are hard on my hands. (carpal tunnel)..but I can usually prop them up somehow

Thanks!
Lying on my side might be better. It's when I try to prop the book up when I'm lying on my back is the problem. I guess I just need to experiment a bit. Maybe buy some more pillows or something. I have one of those boomerang shaped pillows here somewhere. That might help give some support in the shoulder and underarm section to stop everything falling asleep. I will experiment. |

I am just back from vacation. And there is a ton of stuff here to catch up on!
But I want to bump this up and tell you all about the new movie... The Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency is being filmed NOW and looks very good. The same director who did The English Patient, and Cold Mountain. Filmed in Botswana... http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0801/p01s02-woaf.html My husband reads the Christian Science Monitor (for the news) and found this article and brought it up to me on vacation. It is luckily on the net too, so interested readers here can check it out. Looks good to me!

I didn't read it all, yet but it looks great! Ever since I read the book I've wanted to visit Botswana so I can't wait to see this.
Thanks, Mrs. D! Take care, Tessa |
