shov,

If you are going to try running, get a pair of foam ear plugs. With them in, you will get a sense of the impact from your foot plant. Then, try to change you foot plant to lessen the impact on your brain. This softer stride will also be much better on your knees and hips.

If you try basketball, remember, it is a contact sport. An elbow to the head or face can become a serious problem. Weight training is less impacting if you are not pushing your limits. If you cause any symptoms, even if they do not become noticeable for a few hours, take it easier the next time. The Buffalo protocol uses 20% less than your heart rate that causes symptoms as an exercise limit. Makes sense to me.

The most important issue is two fold. Avoid any further impacts to your head, even if they do not seem as severe as a concussion. Avoid causing a return or increase of symptoms. Both will prolong your recovery and limit the level of recovery you can attain.
