Default right from when I wake up--head is throbbing and shaking inside

what is this??? I just can't stand it anymore --throbbing in the back of my head -- not a painful throbbing just annoying. I asked my husband to touch my head...but he doesn't feel it --its on the inside. Noticed most at night when I lay my head on the pillow. The painful part comes on later in the day if I've done too much -- basicially if I leave this house, watch tv, computer too much ,etc. I can't do anything!!!

I can't sleep on my own...even with 1 mg of xanax I only slept 10:30 to 4:30...then doze for a few hours on and off (more off).

I think you just have to accept that you're going to have different feelings in your head and body. Try to relax and get your mind off of it as that is the only thing I've found that helps at all. I'm afraid you are being consumed by this and that doesn't help.

We've all been there and some of us are still there or not much better. I'm not saying you don't have the right to feel the way you do. It's super frustrating. But somehow you have to move forward.

Find one thing (even if it only last a few seconds) each day to be thankful for and focus on it. Write it down. Put it where you can see it. Be thankful you are alive. Be thankful you can still breathe. Be thankful you aren't confined to a wheelchair. Be thankful you're not hooked up to machines keeping you alive. Make a list of every tiny thing you can do and be thankful it's not worse than it is.

The stress alone can keep your symptoms at their worst. There are certain songs that actually take pressure off my head. And even though caffeine isn't supposed to be good with PCS a Caramel Frappe from McDonald's will take the edge off my headaches if nothing else will.

I totally agree with RoadRunner - Finding and expressing gratitude each day has helped me during this recovery period. Yes, I have plenty of things that aren't going the way I want them to and I grieve at least one of them everyday. I scream, I cry, I write it down, I pout until I let it go.

It may not always seem like it but there are gifts that will or have already come from PCS or any injury. Focusing on whatever the smallest positive in all this could actually help your symptoms and recovery.

Have you tried taking your blood pressure and pulse when this happens? I used to have similar weird sensations but it was years ago so I can't describe them. The only thing I can remember was the sense of little pulsing head aches.

If you can connect them to increases in your BP and pulse, maybe you can treat them with fast acting meds. I keep propanolol handy for the rare high blood pressure events.

My best to you.

Also if your blood pressure is high. It might be that you need
a medication for it. I would suggest seeing a doctor about this part.

Reason one of the things that I found to help my migraines was/is
verapamil 240 er. Which is a blood pressure medication. Which
has helped me a lot. I also take topamax for maintanance. And I
personally believe I could go off the topamax if I wanted to.

every time dr takes my pressure its fine...as a matter of fact right now in a blasted headache and its 137/90 ...

I notice the tingling when I'm concentrating at computer...tv, a short drive (driver or passenger) or even in conversations. I also get fullness in my ears and some pain.

Yes...I have a lot to be thankful for..appreciate those words..and I will do that -- write it down somewhere so I can remember that.

I'm trying not to cry everyday --but it isn't working.
Going to psychiatrist a week from tomorrow...hopefully she will put me on antidepressant ...the antianxiety meds are only helping me sleep

Blood pressure at that rate would give me a horrible headache and make me non-functional. (Only time I had high blood pressure was about 7 years ago and it was caused because I was hypersensitive to Candida. Candida under control, blood pressure under control for me.)
