As requested by my lawyer, I am being seen tomorrow by our city's university concussion clinic tomorrow morning.

When I made the appt, the secretary told me that the first 45 minutes would be on a computer doing neurocognitive testing and then the last 15 minutes were a consult with the Dr. to go over the test results and to address current symptoms. She also warned there is a good chance the test will aggrivate my symptoms.

I have never had anything like this done and am wondering what it entails.

I have no idea what to expect. After 5 months of PCS, I know that they are not going to be able to "fix" me, but am hoping that they can at least provide some relief and make me feel like I'm not crazy for having the symptoms I do.

Anybody ever had any of this kind of testing done? Hearing someone elses experience would be helpful, because I'm very anxious...

I've had computer based neuro-psych testing done as part of my most recent Neuro-Psych Assessment. Don't worry about it. It may cause you to get fatigued but that is an integral part of the test. It measure various responses by presenting questions or sequences for you to respond to.

If you start to get fatigued, just do as good as you can. If your scores start to drop, the result will show this. It will be a good indicator of your brain's current function level.

It is not uncommon for you to need a few days to recover from the effort and stress loads. As I said, stressing your brain is integral to the test.

Plan a normal day with no unusual preparations. Relax and just do the tests. There will likely be multiple tests with short breaks between them for the technician to set up the next test sequence.

Relax and just do what you can.
