Like Sareth and Greenfrog I also get twitches in the head and neck. (I suppose that means that it isn't a unique phenomenon by definition, as other people experience the same thing.)
For those interested, there is a thread about this, Neurological Spasms Link: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread111973-2.html It would be interesting to know if other people also experience this. It would be even more interesting to know what causes it! Concussed Scientist Quote:

I get weird feeling (like a throbbing) thru my whole body when I'm overstimulated Icepick feeling at top of my head too. neck and shoulders hurt when I wake up...goes down my spine to my bra strap area. I feel it during the day sometimes too. when will this ever go away?? almost a year now. |

wtrpk: I don't remember how you got hurt, but the headaches and neck and shoulder pain may be related to your ear/jaw pain. Have you been examined for an upper cervical neck injury?
The head trauma that gave me my concussion also did some damage to muscles in the upper cervical area. This can create tension on or otherwise irritate surrounding muscles in the skull, shoulders, and upper back. According to my doctor and my physiotherapist, this explains in part some of my vertigo, headaches and pain in my ear, face, neck, and shoulders. So my physiotherapy is aimed at reducing these symptoms by restoring the muscles to their pre-accident state. My dentist also speculates that my head trauma damaged some facial nerves, leading to tooth and jaw tingling and facial pain. I don't think there's anything you can do about this sort of damage except hope that it heals over time. |

I hit the back of my head at a waterpark.
I know I'm getting marginally better...but not quick enough for my liking. I'm bored to tears and EVERYTHING I do brings on symptoms |
