Default Discovering the benefits of Healing Touch and Reiki

I have 2 coworkers who have taken healing touch classes. Both of them have worked on me while i have been at work and i will have an icepick headache and they can feel the energy of it 2 feet away with their hands. They use different techniques to help break up the pain and pass along positive energy and i cant believe how amazing it has been. I bought a book on Reiki and got copies of the techniques listed by Healing Touch International and have started practicing on myself. I swear the benefits and pain relief and relaxation feel like i just took a percocet. Unbelievable. Im going to be taking a course in October to learn more and be able to do self healing along with healing my patients. Worth looking into!!

I've been curious about it myself, it's nice to hear of someone that has experienced it.

Check out Healing Touch Internationals website....there are probably groups in your area who meet to practice on others...or you can buy a book about it or on reiki to see how to treat yourself.

Please continue to share your findings - I don't have the headaches that so many others seem to have but the very fact that you draw such relief from it makes me think it has to be beneficial to your overall mental and physical health. Thanks!

Absolutely. Reiki and healing touch is all about healing on all levels- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I can tell the social anxiety that i developed after the accident with crowds has already gotten easier and my mood seems to be slightly more even than it was before i started.

THe book i am using now is called "The power of Reiki. An ancient hands on healing technique" by Tammaya Honervogt -Reiki Master-Teacher.

Thanks very much. I found a few in my area I can reach.

If this really works it could address & end my main concern from this ordeal- pain.

Those who hold to mainstream Christian beliefs should look carefully at Healing Touch and Reiki. It is based on concepts that are counter to Christian principles. The US Bishops have spoken against it as have many Protestant leaders.

I suppose it is all in how anyone looks at these things.

I think the best way to explain it would be..... Have you ever banged your elbow or knee on a table? Whats the first thing you do besides yelling ouch? You immediately grab the area you injured and hold it. And the pain usually subsides after a few minutes. Or if you have a headache, you put your hands up to your head and hold it. We use healing touch in our every day life and dont even realize that we are doing it.
