Cody-

Number 1, you NEED to get an attorney! Your company was EXTREMELY negligent in their treatment of you. You need to protect yourself because this symptoms could follow you for the rest of your life and said company is not going to be there for you.

Once you can see a neurologist, I would request a vestibular evaluation. Once they do this, ask for vestibular therapy. It has made a HUGE difference in my balance and disorientation. It's been 7 months and I'm not there yet. However, unless I do something I know I shouldn't, I don't feel dizzy and nauseous 24/7. It has made my daily life much more liveable.

Stress is awful for you healing brain. Getting a lawyer to help you through all the trouble with you company would help put that stress on them to work through and let you brain focus on healing, rather than trying to keep up and outwit you companies decieving practices.

Don't worry, I have a lawyer and he his very good

The whole stress thing is starting to take a toll on my body. I'm starting to have high blood pressure and I have never had that before. The nurse and doctor said that it's high b/c of high my stress level is right now

my doctor told me constant pain can be a cause of high blood pressure too.

Just a thought.....Some MD's use beta blockers for headache and migraine control. A beta blocker is a medication that decreases heart rate and blood pressure and can end in olol. Such as Inderal (propanolol), atenolol, metoprolol. If you are having a problem with high blood pressure, it might not be a bad idea for your doctor to put you on a medication that can help with pain and bp control.

My doctor suggested a beta blocker for my headaches, but i reminded her that my bp is already pretty low 95/60 and i was worried it would increase my dizziness by dropping my bp too low...which is agreed.

"Beta blockers are a class of drugs that block the effects of beta-adrenergic substances produced by the body, specifically the nerves and the adrenal gland, such as adrenaline (epinephrine). By blocking the effects of adrenaline, beta-blockers relieve stress on the heart by slowing the rate at which the heart beats. Beta-blockers have been used to treat high blood pressure, angina, certain types or tremors, stage fright, and abnormally fast heart beats (palpitations). They also have become important drugs for improving survival after heart attacks. Beta-blockers have been used for many years to prevent migraine headaches."

Suffered a TBI with PCS on April 25th 2011 from multiple blows to the head from falling, unconscious for 12 hours with no memory of event. Hit the back of my head, and above right eye. MRI and CT negative. Symptoms included constant headaches (migraine, pressure, tension, icepicks), dizziness, tinnitus, visual changes, photophobia, fatigue, "spacing out", word finding difficulties, depression, and emotional lability.
Began Healing in November 2011 after starting acupuncture and Healing Touch (a nurturing energy therapy that promotes relaxation and pain relief). I went back to work in February 2012. Ive been symptom free since July 2012. Very happy, positive, energetic and working out every day, doing yoga, and living a normal life again!
I also began taking Healing Touch classes in November 2011 and completed 5 Levels of Healing Touch Certificate Program that included a 1 year mentorship to become a Healing Touch International Practitioner in June 2013. I am so pleased to offer this wonderful healing therapy to my patients, friends, and clients.

Nightnurse ...atenolol is the one I am taking. I will admit...didn't do much for the headaches. ...but I am finding that the tmj appliance made my neck issues worse...so we're on to something there...just have to figure out more on that.

My stress right now is at a all time high, and I feel like I'm about to "snap" if you know what I mean. I've also been feeling completely exhausted lately as well.

I almost did snap tonight at my girlfriend and it wasn't pretty.

Another thing, I have not been able to get my meds for nearly two weeks now b/c my WC hearing has not had a ruling yet...

My memory seems to be shot right now.

There are times when I'm on the phone and all of a sudden I have no idea what I'm talking about, my mind just goes blank and it sucks . Almost everyday I forget what I did that day as well.

Another thing. I've been feeling a lot of anger and animosity towards people and I don't like it. Well for one, nobody and I mean nobody other than my GF and family ask how I am. It's kind of upsetting that none of my closest friends ask how I am and what not. I haven't seen any of my friends for damn near 2 months now. I just wish my friends actually cared cause hell, if any one of my friends went through what I am going through, I'd call them every now and then to talk to them to make sure they're doing alright.

This has been on my mind for a while now.

This has been on my mind for a while now.

I cant speak for everyone else, but my situation has caused the same thing to happen. Except my family lives on the opposite coast and never call and didnt care. I had a boyfriend at the time of the accident, and he was implicated by police for possibly causing my injuries (althought he didnt) and i never heard from him again because of it. I lost my BF and a lot of my friends at the time when i needed them the most. Going through something like this without much support was incredibly hard.

Only a few friends stuck around to check up on me to see how i was doing. Now 6 months later, I've lost numerous friends because they dont understand and dont want to deal with my inability to go out or my depression. I confronted some of these friends when i was angry and didnt have the ability to control my impulses and it hurt their feelings. All i could feel was the hurt and anger of them not being there. When i look back, i realize i didnt ask some of them that i needed help or didnt straight out ask what i needed of them.

Some side effects of having a brain injury (depending on area you hit) can cause you to be angry, irrational, impulsive, confrontational....when you normally wouldnt act in those ways. One of the hardest things to do is to recognize when you are getting angry or saying things you wouldnt normally say and stop and think long and hard before reacting.

So my best advice is to start journaling how you feel. Write down the feelings and animosity you are experiencing and shelve it for a few days. If you look back and realize it isnt something to lose a friendship over, then hold back and wait till your emotions are more stable to talk over something like this. Think before reacting. I guarantee we all have almost "snapped" at one point or another. Its a sure sign that you need to slow down, rest, try and focus on healing and take good care of yourself nutritionally.

When we are sidelined and injured we have all the time in the world to think about what we would do if a friend had this happen to them....but in reality we would probably be living a very busy life and only have a few chances in 2 months time to visit or do things for them. When people dont know what to do to help you, they usually do nothing. Feel blessed about the people who are there to support you and focus on that for now. Its not much, but its a start, right? Good luck and stay strong. You will get better....its just gonna take time and rest!

Thanks for all the advice

I got some great news today as I found out that I have won my hearing, again. It's a big monkey off my back but, I'm not going to stop worrying about it b/c I know they're going to appeal it.
