Default one question

Even if the only physical symptom is dull headache, no nausea, no dizziness, no vision, sound issues...), Could it be PCS?

If so, how long does it take to go away?

Thanks in advance.

I think it could be.

I found this article very helpful in getting a handle on my headaches: http://www.braininjurymn.org/library...icHeadache.pdf

Are you on any medication? Amitriptyline (elavil) has helped me a lot.

hmm, that article was quite informative. thanks

Currently, I'm not on a medication, but my doc prescribed me lustral (Sertraline hydrochloride). I am undecided between taking it or not. It has lots of side-effects like memory deficits, sleep disturbance.

Sertraline sounds like an odd prescription for PCS. What symptoms is he trying to treat. It is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor). They can be brutal. I have been on paroxetine (Paxil) for 12 years. It helps me with my brain getting struck on mundane thoughts, like the spelling of a word, a line from a song, or even a license plate of a car that drove by.

The side effects are not fun. I sweat like a pig. I have to have food in my stomach to sleep without nausea and other bedroom problems. But, it controls the looping thoughts.

now, i am on elavil for two days. But its side-effects are awful. I don't like drowsiness and sleepiness all along the day at all. Additionally, it didn't help my headaches. How long does it take to alleviate headaches.

I don't want to become addicted to this drug. Because, it disturbs my concentration and memory. Furthermore, Staying away alcohol for months because of this drug is not nice for me.

Is there any other drug (maybe a SSRI) to prevent chronic daily headache.
Is it true that elavil just masks the headaches, when you quit it, headaches will be back?
and finally, After how many days of usage does it possibly cause withdrawal symptoms while tapering?

thanks.
