Default 1 year mark.. need motivation

It's been a year since my initial concussion. I sustained a number of minor cumulative "low threshold" concussions. I've been doing all the right things for an entire year (well, majority of the year), and still have a ways to go before reaching 100%. I have been eating healthy and taking supplements. I had to take a semester off of college, am obviously not playing soccer, and still cannot run or exercise. Most days are still a struggle. Two hours of shopping leaves me in bed for days.

I know everyone's case is different, but I'm starting to fear permanence. Basically, I'm in a rut and I need motivation........

I'm at 15 months.

Every case is different, but I've been improving. It just takes a long, long time. Hope you get back to college OK in due time.

I still can't shop for 2 hours...agony ...and I feel like crap during as well...so why bother. Its like a sick joke because I could have been a professional shopper!!

I'm past the year mark and if I look back I see some improvements but not enough for my liking. No way near 100%...barely 50%.

I can't even sit and chat with a friend for an hour without symtoms of pain, exhaustion, etc.

Good luck..take it slow (I'd say rest but I hate that word).

kelly,

I'm sorry you've had such a tough year.... I'm into my 13 week and I'm frustrated. Everyone says to have patience and that it takes a long time. I know its easier to hear than it is to do. I dont have the magic words of wisdem to make this all better for you but your not alone.

I know some days are harder than others. I am struggling in the little time I've been injured. My heart and prayers go out to you.

My one year mark is this Sunday and I am having similar feelings...accepting my limitations has been hard but what is harder for me is dealing with the ups and downs of the physical pain...especially while trying to raise a family! Anyways, I take comfort in knowing that there are others out there (ie this message board) who completely get what I am going through.

Hoping that tomorrow is better for you
