that's what a lot of people have...when the 2 eyes aren't working together. I tried prisms but they didn't work for me. Dr. Debby Feinberg uses a specific type of prism (not the one that the dr gave me) and she seems to have sucess. She's on youtube and she has a website. She's in Michigan.

Yes, I also had this. It was diagnosed after a Vision Efficiency Evaluation. I had ten weeks of vision therapy which helped a lot. After I completed the therapy, I was able to read/do close work again and also drive.
I found the doctor who did my exam here: http://www.braininjuries.org

I completed vision therapy for 5 months once a week and I felt better immediately after but doesn't last long. Now I have some prism training lenses (besides the session) which I use it whenever I get dizziness/headaches etc., and it helps a little.
Also I am wearing contact lenses which also helps. All this I found in the past 1 month. Finding the right prism lenses is what Dr. Debby Feinberg expert at. You can do some of the training at home itself. I need some serious brain training and/or prism lenses I think.

Hi!
Thanks for the info mentioned above. Just curious... how did you guys get diagnosed? Were you having major visual problems or was it mainly the headaches? Did you ask your doc for the comprehensive test? How did you go about this? I know that my vision is not the same.. used to be better than 20/20 but I'm not having any major issues. But, I do still have dizziness and occasional balance missteps. Could this help me? Will a regular eye exam show these specific problems? Will any eye doc do? Thanks so much! |

postconcussion : You need go a Developmental Optometrist (google for it) to diagnose it. Well it is more than diagnosis and/or based on symptoms for me. From the beginning I know my vision is not the same and no regular optometrist/ophthalmologist can find this and many ophthalmologists/neuroophthalmologists don't believe in it. My insurance doesn't cover but some insurances started to cover part of it.
Even many Neurologists/specialists surprised when I mention about Vision therapy. They never heard of it expect few and I live in a huge city. One rehab director of a hospital is the one strongly believed I may have vision issues. I may have other issues too with neck and ear. Not really sure what is causing what but I like to believe in vision since other tests didn't show anything. Also this training prism lenses should be used only for few mins/few times a day but I use it a lot because it sure helps. That may be a clue. rick92 : I know not many wants to wear glasses but if it gives your life back why not? Try therapy first (about 6 months) and if didn't work try the prism lenses. These days frames are very fashionable and also you may not have to wear forever. Just for time being only. good luck with therapy and keep posting.
