Sorry you're going thru all this stuff! I completely understand the frustration with neurologist issue. I finally convinced my husband at the end of August we HAD to find someone else to work with cuz our neuro was worthless (pat on the head, up the meds and see ya next time was his advice).

So then, who to see? I decided to seek out other TBI survivors and/or their caregivers from my area and see who they recommend .... or, almost MORE importantly who they DON'T recommend. My plan worked great! I attended one brain injury support group meeting and everyone unanimously suggested the same doctor.

I found the support group thru the Brain Injury Association of America WWW.BIAUSA.ORG I believe the branch for you in Vegas is WWW.BIANV.ORG

Check them out. Maybe a phone call would be sufficient or you can attend one of their meetings (word of caution - can be VERY VERY overwhelming attending a meeting. LOTS of excitement, babbling and noise at the one I went to. You may want to send a friend or family member to get the recommendation for you).

By the way, the doctor that was recommended to us was a doctor of physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatrist) - NOT a neurologist. I kinda felt there was not a whole lot a neuro would do for us other than evaluations. Maybe some are focused on rehabilitation, but ours was not. We've been very happy with this doctor and she has had realistic input and great suggestions for us.

Hope that helps you in some way!

Peace, grace & healing to you....
Amy
