Saw it yesterday for Valentine's Day date with my wife. I agree with nightnurse. They could have added some more post injury symptoms but it may have sounded like a documentary.
Rachel McAdams was fabulous. It is a good date movie. Oddly, we saw it with free tickets we get at Brain Injury Support Group. Enjoy the acting and forget the symptoms.

I'd like to see this at some point. I'm not so sure how it would go with me right now...I'm still kind of upset about the situation I'm in and how I feel, so I'm wondering if it would increase my anxiety.
How were you guys able to see this in the theatre anyways lol. I would NOT be able to handle a movie theatre at this point in my recovery.

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI. Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain. Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms. Slowly but surely regaining my life back. |

I was wearing my ear plugs and attended during a slow period with very few in the theater. Even then I needed to close my eyes during the previews. Next time, I will wait until the previews are done and sit a bit farther back from the screen. We sat about 1/2 way and should have been much farther back.

I'm gonna start training my brain to get used to TV tonight. I'm going to hook my laptop up to my LCD and stream some shows off Hulu from the computer. The picture quality isn't very good when I do this, so that should help with the visual stimulation. Wish me luck...if you don't hear from me for a few days, you know what happened, LOL ![]()

Just took my son to see this. I cried, such a girl LOL, he said it was good. He said some of what was in the movie was close to home like the doctor's saying everyone is different and no "normal" to recovery, being overwhelmed in crowds, people expecting you to be the old you, etc..
Very enlightening and great acting.
