Good Luck Charlie!!!

Hey, isn't that a show on Disney Channel??

Thank you Eowyn for that helpful link.

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI.

Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain.

Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms.

Slowly but surely regaining my life back.

Default Back from the Neurologist!

I got back from the hospital an hour about an hour ago, I am so pleased I went!

He was incredibly helpful, and scheduled me for a MRI, he explained to my mum why my personality may have seemed to change and what my brain is likely to have suffered. That I haven't been making headaches up, and reassured me that what I feel is real. He was really pleased that I brought a list of my symptoms (Thanks guys for suggesting it! It was great advice )
I was so relieved that he didn't think I was making it up, and has referred me to a my local 'brain team' I'm not sure what that is, but apparently it's a support group which my GP should have referred me to, where they monitor you and teach you how to cope better with your symptoms. I'm actually feeling a lot better from seeing him.

Thank you for all the advice you gave me, it's really appreciated, I think I would have said I was too ill to go otherwise!

PS - nwsmith - I've finally replied to your PM, sorry it has taken me so long!

AWESOME!! So glad you had such a positive experience. It's great for you to get some validation and new resources, and for your mom to get some education. Hopefully this will help her be more supportive too.

Default good nes charlie

I am so glad that they listened to you! Most times there are good doctors around, and I am glad you found one who can lead you to the right specialty. Let us know how it all goes. keep that journal going, it is a good way to explain things, and shows the docs you care about what is happening to you. I do wish you all the best as you go forward with this. ginnie
