I hope you are still checking your account because I was just wondering how everything worked out for you. I am a college student who is experiencing almost exactly the same symptoms you did. I really want to start to go out and drink alcohol when I get better. I was trying to see what you would recomend

HJFX,

Welcome to NeuroTalk. Alcohol is not recommended after a concussion. Once symptoms are gone, a single serving should not be a problem for most people. More than a single serving puts your brain at risk. You may find that you are much less tolerant of alcohol.

This has been a really fascinating thread. I'm not much of a drinker now (although my college years were certainly a different story) nor do I do drugs but I find myself every now and then wanting to pop open a nice cold beer (imported from Prague - I only drink the best lol) to enjoy out on my balcony in the evening. Intellectually I know that at this point in my recovery that's a no-no. But to get anecdotal evidence as to exactly why it's a bad idea helps curb the urge.
