Nice comment from a neighbour I just ran into (we've been in the same neighbourhood for about four months): "I see you walking outside all the time...you're moving much better than you were a couple of months ago."

How nice!
I ususally get something like, "So doesn't this prove you're faking?"

Thats so nice to hear!! When I returned to work, a lot of people commented on how healthy I looked. Everyone said I was glowing. I didnt realize how much you wear your pain on your face and how a "healthy glow" changed how others perceived you. It was a welcome reminder of how far i had come. So happy to hear you are making "strides" haha.

Suffered a TBI with PCS on April 25th 2011 from multiple blows to the head from falling, unconscious for 12 hours with no memory of event. Hit the back of my head, and above right eye. MRI and CT negative. Symptoms included constant headaches (migraine, pressure, tension, icepicks), dizziness, tinnitus, visual changes, photophobia, fatigue, "spacing out", word finding difficulties, depression, and emotional lability. Began Healing in November 2011 after starting acupuncture and Healing Touch (a nurturing energy therapy that promotes relaxation and pain relief). I went back to work in February 2012. Ive been symptom free since July 2012. Very happy, positive, energetic and working out every day, doing yoga, and living a normal life again! I also began taking Healing Touch classes in November 2011 and completed 5 Levels of Healing Touch Certificate Program that included a 1 year mentorship to become a Healing Touch International Practitioner in June 2013. I am so pleased to offer this wonderful healing therapy to my patients, friends, and clients. |

Has your neighbor been watching your frog butt?
LOL Actually, it is nice to hear you have a neighbor who has noticed you enough to see a difference. You are fortunate. My best to you.

That's great! Even my family are still sceptical about my PCS! Recently, one of them said to my mum 'Are you sure she's not playing up to it?' That really hurt, I'm pleased your neighbour is so much more considerate and understanding

![]() Sorry to hear about the negative comments others have had to deal with - I know it's not uncommon. It's something of a double whammy: not only is it frustrating to deal with the skeptics, but their comments and insinuations can be especially stressful for people recovering from an mTBI (whose stress defences are not as robust as they were pre-injury). |

I've been fortunate... not a single person I know has accused me of faking (although I guarantee my ex husband is having a heyday with what the kids are telling him!).... My church has been especially good, since I only see them once a week... they could literally see the fog lifting from my eyes as the weeks passed...
I'm so happy for you that things are getting better! That's the best way to know after all... through a compliment!

Feb 24, 2012 - Slipped on a large puddle of ice at work, hitting the back of my head. No loss of consciousness, so I assumed I'd be back at work within a few days. I was wrong. When resting, symptoms are low. With exertion, I still suffer from fatigue, migraines, vision problems, problems thinking or reading, troubles sleeping, issues finding or getting words to my mouth when the headaches are bad, tinnitus, and thyroid issues which I think are due to the concussion. Seen one specialist, and now a few others through insurance review of my case. Hoping for further treatment. |

Another nice comment by someone in my neighbourhood who sits out on her porch with her husband a lot, and whose house I walk by every day. She asked about my injury and said I'm walking much better, adding that "even my grandson said the other day, 'Nana, that man is walking much faster.'"
