It is an SSRI also sold as Celexa. I have been on an SSRI for 12+ years.

Give it a try and expect the first week or two to be a bit weird. I'd suggest starting it on Monday so you can call the doctor if you have any difficulties or need to ask a question. Pharmacists are often a good source of information so you may want to discuss it with your pharmacist.

Getting relief from anxiety can be a life changer.

My best to you.

Alright, well i decided to finally take it like an hour ago, sooo i guess i'll see how things go. Does Citalopram ease anxiety within the first day or two, or does it generally take awhile to actually start kicking in?

Good for you!!

It takes a while to build up in your system. You will probably start to notice a difference gradually within a week or so.

Keep taking it regularly so it can do its job!

As Eowyn said, it can take a week or two to show the benefits even though the side-effects can start sooner.

My best to you.
