Thanks for posting this Mark!
It will take me time to read through, some of the articles are more difficult for me to read. Maybe I will print a bunch out and leave them with my doctor on my next visit, he still doesn't really believe there's a relation between TBI and hormonal imbalances. Starr |

I will take a look at this but I have noticed emotional and hormonal imbalances!!! It's gotten better but I have a much harder time controlling my emotions and having a "filter" (whenever something crosses my mind, its incredibly difficult not to say it). The filter has gotten better but I find when I'm really upset, the filter goes out the window! Also, to the hormonal part-my irritability is through the roof when I'm stressed, and my symptoms also increase easily with stress! One more thing, my menstraul cycle is also affected!

Suffered a TBI with PCS on April 25th 2011 from multiple blows to the head from falling, unconscious for 12 hours with no memory of event. Hit the back of my head, and above right eye. MRI and CT negative. Symptoms included constant headaches (migraine, pressure, tension, icepicks), dizziness, tinnitus, visual changes, photophobia, fatigue, "spacing out", word finding difficulties, depression, and emotional lability. Began Healing in November 2011 after starting acupuncture and Healing Touch (a nurturing energy therapy that promotes relaxation and pain relief). I went back to work in February 2012. Ive been symptom free since July 2012. Very happy, positive, energetic and working out every day, doing yoga, and living a normal life again! I also began taking Healing Touch classes in November 2011 and completed 5 Levels of Healing Touch Certificate Program that included a 1 year mentorship to become a Healing Touch International Practitioner in June 2013. I am so pleased to offer this wonderful healing therapy to my patients, friends, and clients. |

I never lost my cycle, but I have the worst regression in symptoms when I am on my cycle. The headaches and nausea are almost unbearable. I wonder if our also has to do with the fact that it is the "placebo" week on the birth control pill. Going to a new neuro this thursday.worth asking...or is that a GP question?

Hello Mark in Idaho,
I am not sure if this is the way to contact you but I have only been able to post from other people's threads... It is not like me to find help from the internet, but I am at my wit's end. I have been reading some of your posts and you seem to know a lot about PCS and TBIs. My boyfriend and soon to be husband has suffered 9 concussions, 3 of which were severe. Almost all of these came from Lacrosse. He stopped playing all impact sports about a year ago. He has had extreme, constant headaches for almost two years now and now a new terrifying symptom came about a month ago: numbness along the left side of his body. It goes from his shoulder to fingertips and from hip to toes. He also gets tired easily. I am so worried about the future and what else could go wrong. I know TBIs have a lot of unknowns but I was wondering if you've ever experienced numbness? If so, what did you do about it? How has PCS affected your life? I want to know what I'm getting into before I marry this man. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you for all your posts. -steph |
