Does anyone have advice on explaining PCS to your family? My husband says Im very checked out, and I am very very moody at the smallest trigger. I am foggy and “off my game”. How do I help my family understand what the doctors have told me is part of PCS?

There are two things you can use to help them understand.
The YouTube video series is very good. It is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Xso...ature=youtu.be You can also download the TBI Survival Guide at www.tbiguide.com and print it out. Highlight or underline the parts you know apply to you. Then, ask your family to go through it and underline the symptoms they see in you. There are lots of other things you can teach them. Tell us about the symptoms they are most mystified by and we can explain how to help them understand them. The most common symptom we have is over-stimulation. The injured brain loses its ability filter out extraneous stimulation. Background noise, visual stimulation, too many voices at the same time, tactile annoyances like poor fitting clothes, and other annoyances cause the brain to lose its ability to focus on the most important issue. It is like the brain is trying to take a sip of a drink from a full flowing fire hose. So, let us know what symptoms they need to understand. My best to you.
