Swelling can take a long time to go down. What part of your head did you injure ? Icing it will not hurt it. If it is sore, it may help with the pain.

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition.

Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life.

I hit the back left side of my head kind of where it points out on the top.

Ive seen doctors for this concussion and a nuerologist 3 weeks ago who commented on the swelling but it has bern an issue to them

Every night from now on im gonna start to ice for 30 min and massage the area for 30 min

In that area, I'd just give it time. A bump lower by the vertebra would be a concern. Try 15 minutes of ice. The ice rule is 15 on, 15 to 30 off then repeat if needed.
