Before my concussion I used to be really good at interviews, quick to think and able to answer questions well. Now, 5 months on, and I stumble over my words, forget what question was asked and what I've just said and forget what I was going to say halfway through an answer.
Does anyone else get this? It's quite upsetting ![]() |

I am facing the same thing. I was laid off a few months before my accident occurred and now over a year later, interviews that I would have easily have gotten then job I don't. Now, I am forced to think about waiting tables, or bartending, but that alone is scary cause of the noise and my memory issues. I would make a good drinking game at a bar though.. a shot for every time I forgot what people ordered. lol

Yep know that feeling intimately. Had a therapy session and I was talking to the therapists about beliefs and skills I had acquired over my career. She told me you don't seem to be having any problems communicating now.
I told her it is easy for past experiences. If I try and work thru a problem new problem it is like the round wheel is suddenly a square wheel. Like my brain is struggling thru quicksand. I am convinced it is a cognitive issue but since I am relatively early in recovery not sure what deficit it could be.

![]() Seriously though, if you want a career change from you previous job the choice of roles seems very limited.
