I have a neurologist appointment in a few days and I'm pretty nervous. I recieved adouble concussion in April and am still suffering symptoms so we decided to go to a neuro to make sure there's nothing going on that we don't know about. Ive never had any scans or tests done so does anybody know what types of tests will happen if any? Please help im really nervous. Thanks for any responses

aliciaj,
Please, by all means, do not allow yourself to become "worked up" about this appt. There is no need whatsoever to make yourself "nervous" about an upcoming appt. with neurologist. He/she will most likely (in *most* of our collective NT experience/s here) spend even less time with you than your last GP appt. Yes. Neurologist will likely only do very rudimentary, ultra-basic, gross neurological checks with you in the exam room; no 'big tests', no MRI, no CT, no EEG --- okay? It's really no big deal. He/she may or may not write orders for further tests, but truly the neurologist appt is no big deal whatsoever. Don't let your mind run away with you over this upcoming appointment. If anything, like most of the rest of us here, you'll be ultra disappointed in the whole experience. ![]() Good luck to you and keep us posted. Sincerely, Theta

aliciaj,
Theta is steering you right. Most neuros will only do a minimal exam. There is not much a neuro can do for Post Concussion Syndrome than tell you to get quiet rest. Most neuros won't even do that. They just say, "It may take some more time." What symptoms are your worst? What are you doing to help with your recovery? Try to not worry. Anxiety is not good for recovery. My best to you.
