Also, the plain pure tryptophan in capsule form, is nice at
night to help with sleep. I only use it occasionally, since that effect wears off. Other amino acids compete for tryptophan at the blood brain barrier so if you use it do it on an empty stomach. Don't use tryptophan supplements if you take antidepressants. The typical dose is 500mg. People tend to get sleepy after a big meal anyway...this is due to a surge of insulin.
