Peter,
Ice your neck. Even a very slight whiplash can cause inflammation. ice ice then ice again.

Ice for 15 minutes then 30 minutes off, repeat. Heat is for a torn muscle, not for injured ligaments or such inflammation. The important thing is to reduce inflammation.
Once the inflammation is down, heat can be used to encourage blood flow for healing. Healing such an injury take a couple of months so routine icing is good.

Sorry that this happened to you. Be aware of what your body says to you and let yourself off the hook emotionally. You feel what you feel. Acknowledge it and work with it. Don't bury it.
The other night I dreamt that I was in another accident while healing. Then on the way home we were in another one. I know it's something that isn't gone for me. Be well, treat yourself well, and best wishes! MissingMe |

Thanks for the kind words and advice guys.
Over the weekend I rested. The neck is not as tight now, but the tightness has moved to my back and base of my skull.. thus causing a dull headahce. Just when I thouht I got rid of them! But I am positive bacause now I know what was causing all my symptoms... tightness in the neck! and I can treat it. I have a few physio appointments booked this week Alot of it I think is anxiety and stress from the event ( being rear-ended) But I am looking forward to getting back on the track to recovery! Thoughts> How is everyone doing today>?> |
